What it does

Catches the dirt, rock, asphalt and concrete that falls down a manhole during casting adjustments after overlay projects, manhole rehabilitations, and more. Many municipalities now require contractors to use one on any project involving manhole digging, repair, or adjustment.

  • Reduces confined space entries
  • Reduces sewer backups
  • Removes the need for jetting or vacuum truck service
  • Straightforward to deploy, with rapid debris removal
  • Constructed for sustained field use

How it is used

  1. Before starting rehabilitation, lower the Debris Catcher with the J-hook and rope to the bottom of the manhole structure. Center the bottom plastic bridge over the invert.
  2. Slowly allow the basket to open. Make sure the Debris Catcher is laying flat.
  3. Remove the J-hook and rope. Start repairs.
  4. When work is finished, pull out the Debris Catcher with the debris in it.

One size accommodates most standard structures. The Rope & Hook is required to deploy and retrieve the unit on standard casting adjustments and is sold separately.
