What it does
Catches the dirt, rock, asphalt and concrete that falls down a manhole during casting adjustments after overlay projects, manhole rehabilitations, and more. Many municipalities now require contractors to use one on any project involving manhole digging, repair, or adjustment.
- Reduces confined space entries
- Reduces sewer backups
- Removes the need for jetting or vacuum truck service
- Straightforward to deploy, with rapid debris removal
- Constructed for sustained field use
How it is used
- Before starting rehabilitation, lower the Debris Catcher with the J-hook and rope to the bottom of the manhole structure. Center the bottom plastic bridge over the invert.
- Slowly allow the basket to open. Make sure the Debris Catcher is laying flat.
- Remove the J-hook and rope. Start repairs.
- When work is finished, pull out the Debris Catcher with the debris in it.
One size accommodates most standard structures. The Rope & Hook is required to deploy and retrieve the unit on standard casting adjustments and is sold separately.
